A/N: After my continuous nagging that I demand to see her writing, [livejournal.com profile] levels came up with an idea that we'd give each other a prompt and present whatever we'd've written at the end of the same day. The writing something bit was successful, the posting-on-the-same-day bit - not so much. XD
Anyway, I got 'flowers' as my prompt and this is what my mind offered me. I blame Neko that I wrote this (obviously), and [livejournal.com profile] szani and her assignment for the direction this ficbit took. XD
Enjoy! :)

Changmin knew them trying out ikebana (for a magazine photo shoot, no less) just couldn’t end well.

He tried politely suggesting that maybe it wasn’t a good idea, that normally people surely practice for weeks if not months (and then whole years) until they feel like they can show their arrangements publicly. Of course, no one listened to him then, the petite, long-haired photographer too busy with smiling at Yunho and Yunho… Well, he was already well past the point of being corrigible. With a gleam in his eyes and eager hands he was already trying to choose which yukata would suit Changmin best - his own pale blue one already suggested by the stylist.

Changmin knows he shouldn’t be fazed by anything at this point but he still wonders how anyone (Yunho not counting, obviously, since he was full of such ideas even normally, and that was to be expected, really) could have thought their compositions would come anywhere close to being decent. Or, well, not complete eye-sores.

And yet, he can’t help himself when he looks at the photographer and the crew’s slightly dumbfounded expressions as they gaze at his and Yunho’s ‘pieces’.
(Oh, they were full of enthusiasm, that’s for sure. After they were showed the basics of ikebana and the initial ‘and now what do I do,’ both him and Yunho had surprisingly much fun with picking the flowers out and with awkward attempts at arranging them. Still, if anyone actually thought they can somehow make it do with only gusto… They clearly proved them wrong.)

At least, the pictures should have come out well, or so Changmin thinks. Maybe they didn’t quite manage to attain the look of serene, disciplined flower arrangement masters (not with Yunho somehow misplacing the plant that was supposed to be included in the base of his composition and certainly not with his own, now almost certified, inability in any flowers-involving activities) but the atmosphere on the set was good, the flash of the camera coming in a stable, mostly undisturbed streak. Years of working in this industry taught Changmin that stuff like that usually carries through onto the photographs, so he’s not worried about that.

And yet, all of that doesn’t explain nor justify how he ended up with a flower chain, resting smugly on his head.

Changmin knows he should’ve suspected it right off the bat when Yunho only did as much as ask if he could make something out of left over plants. He should’ve protested vehemently back then, and put the activity to an immediate end.
He can only blame the flowers’ heavy, intoxicating scent that he somehow failed to do so. And his relaxed (and immensely relieved after finishing the shoot and finally sitting down for the interview) state for the fact that Yunho somehow managed to place this crime against aesthetics on the crown of his hair, before he reached up for it, scowling in indignation. But then it was already too late, the interviewer commenting on how ‘adorable’ he looked in it and calling the photographer (standing with her camera still ready, that was just his luck) over to take a ‘perfect behind the scenes picture’.

Yunho grinned at him shamelessly and scooted away just a tiniest bit.

And as a bonus - another direction in which this was supposed to go, at first. (But it needed more time and a brain and at the time I had neither.)

When Changmin learns about the concept for their newest photo shoot, he just hopes it won’t result in the wrath of netizens back in Korea and a scandal.
Getting to learn and appreciate Japan’s culture as a foreign artist is still as tricky as it was six years ago, when they were only starting their struggle to wrap their tongues around these foreign sounds that supposedly meant something, when they still didn’t know how dangerous can a simple forgetfulness be.

That’s why he looks at the laid out yukatas with a mix of interest and apprehension, though he doesn’t forget to keep a polite, curious smile on his face. He wonders if it’s possible to mention that it may not be the best idea without being inconsiderate or sounding like a selfish stuck-up celebrity.
He chances a look at Yunho standing next to him and is met with that peculiar gleam in his eyes that pretty much means Yunho’s already--

Like always, comments and criticism are love <3

Is this fic not finished yet?

It was meant to be more of a drabble right from the start, so while I admit there is potential for development or that it may seem a little like it got cut off, I treat it as a finished entity. ^^

This is so cute. I just end my two weeks of HoMin hiatus and find this tiny bundle of precious fic. Kinda put a smile on my face ^^

I wish Yunho would dare to do that to Changmin and the imagery of Changmin sitting, looking affronted with yukata and chain of daisies is just too cute! Thank you for writing this ^^

Aww, it makes me so glad to hear that it managed to make you smile~

Thank you for reading and commenting! :) (And I'd love to see something like this happen, too. XD Yunho, we're counting on you!)

thank youuuu ;; you're perfectly describing the rascal's thoughts. the imaginary of changmin with the flowers is most fitting/perfect. he needs to stop lying around on beds of roses and instead sneak some behind his ears. think of the sounds that'll come out of yunho.

and it's about time they did something japanese-themed, regardless of yunho being choked with his own obi.

(mine became a monster -- a behemoth, a behemoth. sitting here waiting for it to shrink.)

♥ So glad you liked this ;; It felt so silly after I wrote this. (Especially since I was so, so tired that day XD)
But yeah, I want that to actually happen, too. ;; But I don't think Yunho would be fast and agile enough to scoot away in rl. XD (And the world still needs him!)

And I'd love them to do something like that but as I wanted to say in the 2nd bit - I'm afraid it would cause too much of a ruckus from both Korea and Japan's side and they don't need it for sure. :| (If there are actual scandals because someone said ramen and not ramyun, then can you imagine what would happen if they wore yukatas? Then again, I'm pretty sure our boys wouldn't make such a stupid mistake and actually refuse to wear them like (I think) B2ST boys did? It all depends on the attitude, I guess.
But I want to see it ;;)

No, no, the bigger and the angstier, the better. And a Behemot sounds actually fascinating ;p I want thisssssss.
